About
----------------------
I started this little project in order to scratch an itch. The Maxxyz console did not have a "Learn Timing" function and I was programming an intricate show with lots of fast hits and bumps (Van Halen). Thus, in what free time I had, the Autofollow Timer was born.
----------------------
Usage
----------------------
Each time you click the "GO" button or press the spacebar, the timing of the click will be logged and displayed. When you are done, press "Stop" or the escape button. Enter the wait times into your console's cuelist as WAIT times (NOT FOLLOW times). Enjoy.
----------------------
Display
----------------------
Cue
The cue number associated with the displayed timings. You can set the initial cue number and the cue increment value if you choose. You'll find those settings by clicking the "Options..." button.
Wait Time
The time between "GO"s. The real purpose of this thing.
Elapsed Time
In case you need to know how much time has passed between cue 1 and cue 14.
BPM
Beats per minute. Measures the BPM between the current cue and the previous cue.
Avg BPM
AVG BPM looks at a specified number of cues and gives the average BPM. Why? Because the learn timing function for chases in the Maxxyz only looks at your last two clicks. I wanted to be able to average a bunch of clicks to get a more reliable chase speed. Thus, Avg BPM.
To specify the number of cues it averages, open the "Options..." panel and change the Avg BPM divisor to whatever you would like. Until you have passed the number of cues specified, Avg BPM will look at all cues. For instance, if the divisor is "20" and you are on cue 5, it is looking at all five cues. When you reach 21, it begins to look at only the most recent 20 cues.
----------------------
Options
----------------------
The cuelist can be saved as a tab-delimited text file. You can open the file in Excel and edit it as you choose.
The default number of decimal places is two, like most modern lighting consoles. You can select 0-3. This is available in the "Options..." panel.
Invert display order will do just that. As you record new cue times, the list now shows the highest cue number at the top. This can be enabled/disabled live.
You can print your cues straight from the application, but there are no formatting options.
You can undo and redo your last action. Note that this does not apply to individual button presses, only full blocks (from GO to STOP).
